Highway 61 is a great ribbon of road that traverses the United States, North to South. It originates in the boreal forests of the farthest reaches of Northern Minnesota and ends in the soft, sweet air of New Orleans. It rolls alongside the great Mississippi river, passing through eight states and, along the way, through towns named Grand Marais, Castle Danger, Duluth, Red Wing, Winona, La Crosse, Dubuque, St. Louis, Cape Girardeau, Memphis, Lula, Rolling Fork, Nitta Yuma, Panther Burn, Natchez, Baton Rouge, New Orleans.
Oh, God said to Abraham, "Kill me a son".
Abe says, "Man, you must be putting me on".
God says, "No". Abe say, "What?"
God says, "You can do what you want, Abe, but
The next time you see me comin' you better run".
Well Abe says, "Where do you want this killin' done?"
God says, "Out on Highway 61".
